Look at the picture above and you will notice a glaring mistake…or not. This graphic was actually designed last year during the 2015 NBA Finals when the Cleveland Cavaliers were defeated by the Golden State Warriors. However, to prepare for the victor, the NBA — as all sports’ leagues likely do — had all their bases/graphics/t-shirts and caps covered.
To the winners belong the spoils and, once again, a Cleveland team fell short of a championship. Yet, after all, they did their best and loyal fans have a way of burying disappointment with the hopeful comment of “wait until next year.”
When you’re a sports’ fan, dreaming BIG brightens daily life. No matter what your personal circumstances may be at the time, cheering for a team to win the ultimate prize brings family, friends, and strangers together. And such togetherness energizes as well as strengthens one’s personal will.
What continues to motivate a team, though? Billie Jean King said:
On this past Sunday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers got it more than right by being the first team in the history of the NBA Finals to come back from a 3 to 1 deficit and win it ALL on Golden State’s home court. This year, they refused to be denied.
This is a rare personal post but the feelings of pride, joy, and “never stop believing” need to be shared. Wherever you are on your journey in life, continue moving forward. Any goal is within reach. Your own championship is out there just waiting for you to “keep play(ing) until you get it right.”
